The design is an inseparable part of Zlín. Design affects a life of every resident here, often unnoticed. We will give it a room to shine and let people understand it, appreciate it and be inspired by it too.

Game

Traditionally, we have one theme which will be reflected in a whole programme. How is a game connected with design? You may find it out during Zlin Design Week. It will be playful, for sure.

A Week Full of Experiences

Zlin will live with design day and night. Exhibitions, Best in Design gala night, all-day Design & Marketing Conference, installations in modules, speaks, workshops, field trips, unforgettable parties and much more. The atmosphere cannot be described, you have to experience it.

What can you look forward to?

Opening

Every event needs a proper start. And Zlin Design Week will not be an exception. Partying till morning, at 14|15 Baťa’s Institute’s platform.

Best in Design Gala Night

Awarding the best talents who entered the Best in Design contest. The Gala Night takes place in Congress center in Zlin, which is a memorable place too.

Exhibitions

Different places, students and professionals. The exhibitions are (besides other sites) located at a chateau in Zlin and at OD 13.

Exhibition Modules

In the city centre, it’s not possible to avoid them during Zlin Design Week. And why would you do so? You may take a look at the best products made by Czech design companies, in a daylight.

What does Zlin Design Week look like?

Design se přibližuje obyvatelům Zlína opravdu na dosah ruky a během týdenní přehlídky je takřka nemožné ignorovat výstavní moduly ve veřejném prostoru. Představuje se tu design v co nejširším slova smyslu a prezentují se tu jak designoví velikáni, tak talentovaní studenti.

Vytvořit instalaci nebo tady jen být a znovu se potkat s kamarády, to chceš! Spojení univerzity s iniciativou jejich studentů a několika významných regionálních firem a samotného fenoménu města vytváří Zlínu a českému designu další styčný bod.

Není to jen další z řady povrchních design akcí. Naopak, pomalu, ale jistě si buduje svébytné místo na české scéně a přináší odlišný pohled na současný design. Zároveň je konzistentně kurátorovaný, přináší nové pohledy na svůj obor a umožňuje skvělou aktivizaci studentů a mladých designérů.
